In his most recent series, Dwelling, Miles Glynn creates works which examine and contemplate the idea of "home". Having lived in 29 places he called home in his first forty three years of life, Glynn has grown accustomed to leaving one home to occupy another, along with all of the adaptations, challenges, and opportunities that come with each move. In his recent relocation from Bozeman, Montana to Marfa, Texas, the idea of "home" was once again top of mind. This time a recent divorce meant that the family dynamic within the home had also changed, adding a very different layer to the already tumultuous process of changing homes. Once in Marfa, Glynn set out to create a series of works which channeled the varied emotions and reflections that he had been experiencing.
Dwelling works are devoid of Glynn's familiar silk screen process, and instead feature a combination of collaged paper, paint, ink, graphite, charcoal, spray paint, and reused packaging materials. The paper used are pages torn from a book about the architectural history of American homes.
