BURBERRY: Artist Exhibition - MILES GLYNN

These new works pay homage to Burberry winter clothing advertising of the 1920s and 30s. The ads I reference are from various publications of the time, but in bringing them to a much larger scale, I imagined these as outdoor posters one may have seen in streets and subways of London, Paris, etc...... From Livingston to Los Angeles, everywhere I travel I'm always drawn to the outdoor advertising. And I especially love when I see billboards, posters, and signs that have been battered and beaten by the elements, morphing to take on a whole other dilapidated beauty over time…....And that slow deterioration of otherwise lovely imagery is what I've had in mind with these initial 5 pieces... 78" × 50" - mixed media on canvas - this series will be available exclusively at Courtney Collins Fine Art in Big Skv.
